The Central Banks Digital Currency( CBDC) project is a global projects. This makes almost all the countries to show interest in launching their own digital currencies.

China was the first country to launch its CBDC project called the Digital Yuan . The digital yuan is a blockchain-based digital currency and the China Central Bank even planned to integrate a Smart Contract on the blockchain.

Nigeria has also launched its CBDC project called the e- naira. Last week, the Bank of Namibia (BON) also rolled out plans to launch it digital currency. This was aired on a local television station in Namibia by the governor of the Bank of Namibia, Johannes Gawaxab
